Grace Marite.
Mary Shanka a certified AIDS trainer took the
floor to create awareness on the deadly diseases that is killing hundreds
everybody AIDS/HIV how it is spread, prevention and if an individual that
realizes that he/she has the diseases ways of taking care of oneself or patient
and insisted on the need to get tested from the VCT centers available in the
area or in the vicinity. After her session ended ANN SOIKAN came forth to
answer questions from the group she begun with the importance of taking an
HIV/AIDS test she urged Dupoto to take initiative to get tested. The women
participation was excellent they asked all sort of questions one wanted to know
about AIDS.
It was concluded by the Dupoto members that they
take the tests on voluntary basis. But since they were a group they thought
they needed to know each others status just incase there was need to support a
member who was positive. The members gave different views and all opted for the
results to be a personal decision to disclose but that still brought up
questions, what if the person discloses that to everybody in the community. For
individual satisfaction they decided to get to know their status and keep it to
themselves.
The meeting was closed by a word of prayer by
